Hello, is there anybody in there..
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone at home?
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
Well, I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?
There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb
Is there anyone at home?

Re: Hello, is there anybody in there..
I was wondering the same thing. Knock Knock. Anybody here?
I took some time off to become reacquainted with the wonders of medical science, a passel of tests, assorted anesthetics and other medications, and a short term fondness for pain relieving meds. Still waiting to reach comfortable numbness. Now my stomach is back where it belongs (after a sojourn into the pleural space) and there's an awful lot of staples running from stem to stern. Or at least xiphoid process to below the waist, about 10" according to my cold metal ruler. Might be enough stainless there to haul to the used metal buyer when they come out in another week.
Just in case you were wondering, the Minnesota version of Mayo isn't related to BLTs. Fundiplication is a seriously misleading name. While it might be beneficial it's definitely not fun. And the (very experienced and highly rated) surgeon's idea of small incisions is way larger than mine.
It all went well, they sent me home early (the wandering 8 hour ride, no driving with all those staples or meds, while scenic wasn't fun either - not much freeway between Rochester and Mooselake), and the la-z-boy and I are spending quality time together. This 10 pound lift restriction for the next few months is going to put some restrictions on how fast next winters woodpile grows. Gonna need to give the big Husky a rest and get a lighter chainsaw.
I saw Matt's latest update; anybody get a Thingybot while I was gone?

Well, sorry to hear you had to go through those hoops, but glad you're on the recoup. The Mayo is an amazing place, and the docs are usually top noch. Speedy recovery to you for sure. Allegedly the shipping is going as planned, but I haven't heard from anyone that has gotten one either. I am thinking if the line went back to order or when ordered, I will be last, despite the earlier quote that my stuff was "ready to ship". So if I get mine, we can probably assume the others are done.

Anyone new with machines yet? April has come and gone, and I have seen nothing.
